All of us are aware of the harmful effects of tobacco and many among us have even experienced problems in our families because of someone’s habit of tobacco use. Yet, we often ignore it. This year, let’s pledge to do something about it instead of just discussing the problem—and the World No Tobacco Day on May 31st is the perfect day to start. This annual observance aims to encourage abstinence from all tobacco products for 24 hours and also to raise awareness of the many negative effects of tobacco use. This day is observed worldwide and has brought governments, public health organizations, and common people together to fight against a Social Evil—tobacco consumption.
